Roy has over 20 years experience in the construction industry working as an IOSH Safety Trainer/Instruction and HSEQ Advisor. Roy has worked on numerous sites ensuring operatives and managers are compliant with HSEQ requirements.

Head of Training & HSEQ
What do you do on a day to day basis?
As Head of Training & HSEQ you will often finding me leading a course to teach Watkins employees, sub-contractors and other construction businesses to have a positive culture and approach to health and safety.
I am an IOSH trainer and advisor of health and safety and work with operatives and managers to ensure they are compliant with HSEQ requirements. I also support clients who have signed up for our HSEQ consultancy services. Plus, I do a lot of training and personal development to ensure I am up to date on new regulations, accreditations and qualifications.
How long have you been working for Watkins?
I have been employed for 4 years now and prior to that I was a sub-contractor for 8 years.
Do you get out on site a lot?
I get to visit sites fortnightly.
What do you like best about working for Watkins?
There is always someone on hand to ask for advice, it’s a proactive company and above all we take H&S seriously from the Directors down throughout the company.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Teaching and educating, always trying to create a positive safety culture within the company, so all operatives go home safe to their family.
What is next for your career?
To achieve IOSH CMIOSH status.

Megan has been with Watkins for over 4 years and works alongside Roy, liaising with direct employees and external clients to achieve their training and consultancy needs.
She plays an active and passionate role in ensuring clients competency meets HSE requirements, obtaining required accreditations and educating individuals on a variety of Health & Safety topics.

Our friendly team are experienced in HSEQ, have worked both onsite and in the classroom which ensures the courses are both relevant and informative.
