Compliance Calendar 2026
A month-by-month view of the H&S dates, statutory cycles and awareness campaigns that matter to UK construction firms — so nothing sneaks up on you at year-end.
Filter by category, jump to the current month, or scroll straight through the year. Every date links to the real work it implies — renewals, reviews, campaigns — so the calendar doubles as a prompt list for your H&S planning.

The statutory cycles that don’t fit neatly into a month
A calendar view doesn’t cover everything. These rolling cycles sit on top of the monthly view and need their own tracking — typically in a spreadsheet, CAFM or H&S management tool:
- LEV Thorough Examination & Test — every 14 months maximum under COSHH. Plan 12 months from the last test to be safe.
- LOLER Thorough Examination — 6-monthly for people-lifting equipment; 12-monthly otherwise (or to a written scheme of examination).
- Face-fit testing — on every tight-fitting RPE, on the individual, annually or when the face changes. See the Face Masks guide.
- First Aid at Work certification — 3-year validity, with annual half-day refresher recommended by the HSE.
- SMSTS / SSSTS refresher — 5-year refresh cycle on both; book 6 months ahead to avoid end-of-validity gaps.
- PAT testing — frequency depends on equipment class and environment; set a written schedule under EAWR.
- Fire Risk Assessment review — annually under RRFSO 2005, plus whenever the premises or usage changes materially.
- CHAS / SafeContractor renewal — annual with a reminder window that varies by scheme — budget at least 4 weeks to compile.
How to use this calendar
- Print the months relevant to your scope and post them on the welfare notice board — or paste month cards into your Teams / SharePoint site.
- Cross-reference with your H&S management system. Use this as a prompt list, not the system of record — statutory deadlines always live in your own tracker.
- Align campaign dates with your toolbox-talk schedule. Mental Health Awareness Week, World Mental Health Day, Men’s Health Week and Time to Talk Day all pair with ready-made toolkit packs.
- Review annually. Awareness-day dates and statutory guidance change — revisit the calendar in January and again mid-year.
